The reason I chose to combine photography with mindfulness is because meditative photography is an accessible tool in our fast-paced modern day to draw us constantly back to presence awareness and stillness while also admiring the beauty that is always very close in the form of nature.
Watching the film “Accessing the Quantum Gap” with scientist Theresa Bullard, she talks about the 3 stages of manifesting and creating the life you want based on Quantum Physics:
1. Realize there is only Now. Past and future are illusions, and in the present, we have access to all of the universe’s energy to create anything we focus on.
2. Spend time every day working on getting to and expanding your “still point,” or your place of complete silence and quiet, where the mind is 100% at peace. Learn to get to this space quickly and expand it as much as time allows through meditation practices.
Outside of sitting meditation, tune in to silence as much as the day allows. (Wonder Compass “Wondering” is a great tool for this.)
3. Focus in order to create. What you focus on expands into the universe.
I often say “Attention is Intention” – what we put our focus on is what we create. It’s that simple. The right brain, which as a society we all need to develop, involves the creative mind, the intuition and seeing. By focusing on “seeing” deeply into the world while appreciating nature, you can root into each present moment while creating art! How cool is that?
Sitting on a mountain top in a cave isn’t possible or a chosen method …for some of us! Explore, look, find, and get into nature every day in order to shift into peace and the life you have imagined. “Snap!”
