“One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious.”
― C.G. Jung
This week’s photography walking meditation will focus all of our attention and awareness on the shadows we find cast by the summer sun against natural objects.
This is a great week to take black and white images, and try walking early or late to avoid harsh sunlight.
In the state of “Being mindful,” we can observe and accept, welcome and nurture all emotions and thoughts that arise. During a quiet walk, or a seated meditation, the shadow may arise to show its face. What may be buried, or pushed down or unconsciously forgotten may show itself.
All You Need
At the vacation house
you don’t need much
an old mossy table
collaged in pine needles
domed by scorched
as one quilted canopy
hoping for wisdom below
A snappy fire
oh the birds
their songs above
always their songs below
Have fun exploring, stay Curious, and Enjoy your mindful time walking and taking photographs outside in nature.
