“Trees are the earth’s endless effort to speak to the listening heaven.”
Historically, Celtic tribes based their lives around the changing seasons, and the natural world. They not only observed the land, and the elemental world, but their wisdom, teachings and knowledge centered around the changes from the stars above to the colors below.
They created a calendar including a circle of 13 tree, shrub, and vine specimens. Their belief was that each tree held sacred knowledge. Combining the tree and the date of birth, reveals sacred wisdom. They connect us through meaning to the season of our birth.
Gaelic Welcoming Prayer,
“May you always find three welcomes; In the garden in the summer, at a fireside during winter and whatever the day or season, in the kind eyes of a friend.”
Padraic Colum (1881-1972) Said, “I would change the knowledge I have into wisdom, so that the things that are to happen will be changed into the best they can be.
As a photo prompt this week; can you stay open to capturing some of the members of the Celtic species? If not many, how about the one that represents your own date of birth?
As a writing prompt:
Once you discover your birth tree, are there any similarities you notice between you and that species of tree or vine, etc?
Have fun exploring, stay Curious, and Enjoy your mindful time walking and taking photographs outside in nature.
