“If openly aware, the four elements are always helping us to let go create. Beginning with the desire of the soul, and carried by air, wind, fire, and earth.” - MJT
The four elements surround us. They infuse our home, we carry them from outside in, and they keep us alive. This week’s walk and meditation will place some attention on the elements in a fun way.
As a breathing anchor, this session, let’s take a deep breath in – pulling the wind and air through our body. As you let it out, transform the quiet still of your inside existence into
an outward gale. See if you can hear your breath on the out and in …from the silence of here you are.
Taking one very deep and active breath in, are there any quiet places that are waking up
due to your attention on your body?
This week if you like, you can lean on the hooks of the four elements to capture images and notice all that you find indoors and out.
A Poem on the air that weaves itself through us into a quilt of Oneness.
Ignite In to Exhale
The element of air
a conga line
in airy oneness
gifts of oxygen particles
from the transformational
pines boughs above
After the out breath
oxygen enters a foxe’s lungs
before sliding out
gliding into a baton
searching for the next openings
as an old woman takes a deep breath
leaning onto her ruddy walnut cane
she settles down on the halved tree trunk bench
listening to her breath
speaking with the bubbling creek
her exhale travels into a ladybug next,
its spiracles store air
for up to nine months
before venturing out again
Injecting a young boy’s
down the gravel
invisible accordion hands
20 breaths a minute
jumping into nothing
above the ravine
he lands, exhaling
his invisible air
making its way toward you
You breathe in deep
singing the words of a song
tuning this One air with your
lung’s novel beat
--For any willing writers, the journaling prompt for the week is:
For each of the four elements, what does that element give you,
and what does it allow you to let go of?
Have fun exploring, stay Curious, and Enjoy your mindful time walking and taking photographs outside in nature. Thank you for joining me.
