“All the wide world is beautiful, and it matters but little where we go.
The spot where we chance to be always seems to be the best.”
Why do we venture into nature so often? What is the draw?
Everything warm, tasty, & convenient is inside the house,
so why do we bother?
Nature is a manifestation of pure presence. Without thinking, close your eyes next time you enter a park or forest. What do you feel?
Better yet, what are you given space to let go of inside the still presence of nature?
If we have the opportunity to be around humans who are completely present there is a multi-layered healing that occurs inside ourselves. We feel calm and peaceful in that presence.
Nature is a constant entity of presence. Trees, animals and plants are not thinking about the future or the past the way humans do.
They are simply and awesomely “Being.” When we are in contact with that clear presence, we too begin to sink deeply into the peace and stillness of our vast internal spaces.
It’s a gift to be surrounded by such silent wisdom and infinite patience.
