Unlock Your Deepest Questions With This Magical Heart Meditation
“Attention Is Intention.” - MJ
“Where Attention Goes, energy flows.”- James Redfield
The Law of Attraction in its simple form is described as: “That which you think and place your conscious attention on you can create.”
Mindfulness is indeed a golden bullet for many things, but depression is a huge one. Depression comes from uncontrolled thoughts that continue to cycle on and on. With mindfulness we get out of that loop, and into the body and into the present moment. The logic around its efficacy is, that if we can quiet the mind by “Being present,” we observe that we are fine in the moment. Even if heavy emotions are surfacing, by being with them 100% they dissipate at a faster rate than if we try to ignore them and push them to the background. Mindfulness can be an antidote to many cognitive imbalances such as ADHD, or OCD, and is also wonderful for focus, relaxation, pain relief, and overall goal success (to name a few.)
Years back I began putting more focus and value on the heart center of Being, in contrast with the brain and its endless wants & needs. Placing your attention in the center of your heart activates another brain, which is being discovered to have more intelligence and guidance power than the brain in your head does.
MOVIE: POWER OF THE HEART
The symbol of the heart is often found in nature. When you start to focus more on this very real space inside you, the world outside will begin to mirror that back. You may find random people saying very sweet things to you. By giving your own heart much needed love and attention, the world will mirror that into your experience.
Yesterday I was on my morning hike in my woods in Hyland forest, and a robin began leading me down and around the trail bend. I was inspired and awed by it, so my corgi and I followed. It bounced along just far enough ahead to say safe. At the end of the trail it flew to the side just as a grandpa and his grandson ambled by in front of us. The little boy began to chat us up sweetly. “My name is Dean,” he said. “You are adorable Dean,” I replied. His 3 year old face twisted as he replied, “No, I’m not adorable...I’m Dean.” My heart filled up to the brim. As if this wasn’t enough as he wobbled off down the trail he stopped and yelled back, “I love you!!!”
My day was made. Done.
Mindful Heart Space Awareness Meditation
Transcription of above guided meditation:
Take 3 deep breaths, filling up your belly to expansion and let all the air out audibly.
Close your eyes.
Now place your hand over your heart.
This is a powerful way to calm yourself. The heart center is the are of unconditional love. By toughing it, you activate blissful biochemicals called endorphins through the body. (1)
From your awareness inside the middle of your head, drop it down to the middle of your heart.
Continue to breathe deeply, allowing your thoughts to float by as if clouds in the sky.
Now if there is a question you have been mulling over this week or month ...ask your heart the question and leave space and plenty of deep breaths for any information to arise in response.
Place 100% of your question and attention in the center of your heart,
leaving your mind and head at rest.
You can begin to practice this and begin to get a quick yes and no or even more information quite quickly. This is a conversation with your highest self. This is a life tool that is simple, yet quite powerful.
(This can take you a minute or an hour. There is no rule here.)
You can test this out yourself quite easily. In bringing attention to literally anything, you can have this kick back boomerang effect. This is the law of attraction in all its beauty, magic and synchronicity. Give it a try. If you have a symbol or a person or an experience in mind that has been repeating inside your subconscious or consciousness for a while, you will surely begin seeing it in your outer world. Give it some notice and attention when seemingly “random” things you have been thinking about appear. You can even start small, such as thinking, talking and focusing on green frogs. Just clear some shelf space, because you’re going to see frogs arrive between one and 100 times in the month following. The more attention you put out in a focused way, the more what you focus on will return. Synchronicity is the divine winking back at you.

In the space we all dwell at the present time, we may have the capacity to spend more time taking inward journeys. We may simply be able to check in with our heart space and ask some much needed questions that have been pushed aside over the years:
1. Is there anything about this time at home that I want to persist with after we resume normal life out and about
2. In spending time with myself and my family, were there simple things that my heart found comforting that I always have around me ? (aka. my garden, my journal, my paintings, my cooking.) Do these want to stand out more even as I resume my busy schedule?
3. Was there anything in chatting with my heart, that I found to be new about myself? Maybe I found myself to be adaptable, strong, resourceful, patient, loving, and kind, even when it was extremely difficult.
In its simplest form, mindfulness is free and always there for us. All we have to do is breathe, direct our attention and in the case of this heart centered awareness, drop down into our heart. Clear out the cobwebs. Extend some congratulations for a job well done just getting through a tough and emotional day. Love inward kicks back outward, so start in reverse.
Happy Wondering Friends. Be kind to yourself.
